Today’s Blog Post

If you have just graduated from high school and are looking towards your upcoming Fall college term, congratulations!

For those of you continuing on to your next year of college, great job! You stuck with it.

Unfortunately, this Fall term may be one of a kind with Covid-19 still hanging around. Clearly, we are not safe and there is a lot of risk to our older populations such as grandparents, parents and siblings with serious health issues. So, you need to be very prepared and vigilant in making sure that you stay safe and do not inadvertently take a killer viral bug home that will impact your family members in a bad way. So, stay focused on school, be responsible and careful with what you do and where you do it.

Many of you will be attending on campuses when they open, which will introduce more challenges. You will have students who will feel they do not need to protect themselves and asking you do to do the same. Don’t submit to peer pressure. Remember, these are not normal times. Consider the impact you may have on your personal family when and if you go home. If you do fall off the wagon, make sure you quarantine as per CDC requirements before you get anywhere near a loved one.

Some of you will stay home and attend online. Less exposure. But more risk to your family members if you are reckless when you leave the house.

Summer can be a great time to sit back and relax, go to the beach, hike trails or just hang out with friends. But it will pass quickly and the Fall term will be here in no time. So, make sure you make time to confirm that you have the funding needed to pay for the Fall term. June is almost gone and August is a month and a half away.

Call the financial aid office of the college you are attending and confirm you have the funding needed to pay for school. Take the next week to confirm you have submitted all the documentation needed to ensure you have no issues paying your tuition bill.

I strongly encourage you to take the time to secure your funding and not delay during these stressful times. Believe me, it is stressful.
